Today, BUDAPEST has one of Eastern Europe's largest Jewish communities with a population of 80,000. In Medieval times Jews lived in BUDA as merchants, shopkeepers and craftsmen. Since the 15th Century in OBUDA and in PEST since 1407. Today BUDAPEST boasts the largest active synagogue in Europe and the second largest in the world! In short, the HISTORY of BUDAPEST is the HISTORY of the JEWISH PEOPLE!
